First Time Central Heating with ECO3

First Time Central Heating on ECO3

What is First Time Central Heating?

A central heating system is a home heating system that provides heating through a boiler, connected to a system of radiators.

First Time Central Heating grants are available to aid those who do not have, or have never had, a central heating system installed at their property. The grant will go toward the supply and installation of the heating system, all of which will be taken care of by Renewable Solutions Team.

Why do you need a Central Heating System?

There are a number of benefits to having a central heating system installed:

Efficiency – The boilers that we install are RST are all A-rated, meaning that very little of the heat generated is lost as it doesn’t pass through any vents or ducts in the process. This will reduce energy consumption and reduce costs, explained below.

Costs – There is often a cost involved in installing a central heating system (your ECO grant can help with this!), but the long-term savings can be significant. Not only will your energy bills fall, but the value of the property will likely be increased due to the improvements, and those costly repairs of your old system will be a thing of the past.

Energy Consumption – The reduction in energy usage has a positive impact on the carbon footprint of properties with efficient boilers installed. This is the primary reason behind the Government’s implementation of the ECO scheme.

Design and versatility – Finally, there is the overall practicality of having a central heating system. Modern boilers are neat, compact units that can fit within a wall mounted cupboard. Add to this the slim and minimal design of modern radiators and you will find that the central heating system is often almost invisible. A stark contrast to a bulky storage heater or large gas tank sitting outside the property.

How ECO3 works

The Energy Company Obligation (ECO) scheme is focused exclusively on assisting those with lower incomes who are considered to be in vulnerable situations. ECO means that large energy suppliers such as EDF energy, British Gas, EON, Npower, Scottish Power and SSE are obliged to help households access energy efficiency measures such as a First Time Central Heating system.
